How to Install Car Window Tinting
If you would like to save some money and tint your car windows yourself you’ll need some good instructions. You don’t want to waste money on buying the window tinting only to muck up the installation process!
You’ll need to measure up your car windows first to determine how much window tinting film you need to buy. The solar film usually comes in rolls of standard sizes, so just order the size closest to what you need. It can be a good idea to order a little extra, just in case you make a mistake measuring or cutting the window tint film.
There are a few things you need to know before you start tinting your car windows
- Check your state tinting laws, some areas allow darker tint than others.
- Always tint your car windows in a shaded, well lit, dust free area.
- The temperature has to be just right so your window tinting adheres to the glass properly, ideal temperatures are between 40-98 degrees farenheit.
- Don’t clean your car windows with ammonia or glass cleaner first.
- Don’t use residential window tinting film on car windows.
